So you have purchased a handgun for self defense. Now its time to take a Concealed Pistol License Class. Practical Gun Defense offers the training required by Michigan Law to obtain your CPL. The class consists of 5 hours of classroom training and 3 hours of range time. There is a 25 question test and a shooting qualification which requires 10 consecutive shots inside a 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of paper from 21 feet away. Eye and ear protection are a must and 100 rounds of ammunition is recommended. We offer classes in Marquette, Houghton, Baraga and Ontonagon counties monthly.
I have over 26 years experience in law enforcement. I have over 15 years as a firearms instructor. I first obtained my concealed pistol license in 1999. I started Practical Gun Defense in July of 2017, offering the people of Baraga, Houghton, Ontonagon, and Marquette Counties in Michigan's Upper Peninsula practical CPL classes. The courses I offer are certified by the NRA National Rifle Association and MCRGO the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Ownership.
